Matthew Brandt is an experimental photographer who works with different processes and materials to create images that are at once beautiful, yet balanced with his artistic concept. He has used everything from bodily fluids to food to develop his photographs.
The images in the Lakes and Reservoirs series were taken in the Western U.S., developed as C-Prints, and then submerged in water drawn from the body of water depicted for several days, weeks or months. As the water breaks down the emulsion, vivid colours and painterly passages emerge making each photograph unique.
