These six volumes, published across a ten year period, form the definitive catalogue raisonné of Miro’s drawings. A total of 4285 images across 2248 pages and weighing in at just under 16kg!
The set documents Miró's drawings from 1901-1983 - in pencil, watercolour, gouache and pastel including works on various types of paper and other media such as cardboard, paperboard, metal and wood.
All works are provided with titles, dates of creation, techniques and dimensions, as well as information on signatures and labels. Information on provenance and collection affiliation is also provided.
Joan Miró (1893-1983) is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, alongside Picasso and Warhol. Miró developed his own, unmistakable style and created an impressive and imaginative world of images that is characterised by a play of cosmic symbols, strong colours and curious shapes.
