This catalogue accompanied the exhibition Rebecca Warren: All That Heaven Allows, New and Recent Works at Tate St. Ives. Titled after a 1955 romance film directed by Douglas Sirk, the show featured a selection of the artist’s work made over the span of fourteen years, including a new series of hand-painted bronze sculptures and mixed-media wall collages.
The exhibition drew connections between her practice and the geographical context and artistic legacy of St Ives. The book is generously illustrated with full-colour images of the exhibited works, as well as photos of Warren’s studio and views of the exhibition.
A significant British artist, Rebecca Warren's exuberant, roughly-worked sculptures and neon vitrines engage with the canon of art history. Warren first came to prominence in the 1990s and exhibits widely in Europe and the United States.
Includes texts by Anne Barlow and Laura Smith and an in conversation between Laura Smith and Rebecca Warren.
