Italian artist Piero Manzoni (1933-1963) is seen as one of the pioneers of international conceptual art. During his short artistic career, he produced more than a thousand canvases, sculptures and other objects. He radically broke with the conventions of art, even making the body of the artist, and sometimes that of his audience, part of the work.
