This book features all work displayed in the first four MAST exhibitions, staged between 2013 and 2014. The exhibitions were entitled Industrial Worlds 2013; Industrial Worlds 2014; Human Capital in Industry and The Factory Photographs. The Factory Photographs presented 111 photographs, some from the foundation’s own collection, by film-maker David Lynch.
As well as an introduction by Isabella Seragnoli, the book comprises the essay Photography and Industry by the curator of the MAST collection, Urs Stahel, and two special contributions about an exhibition of David Lynch’s photographs by Petra Giloy-Hirtz and Gian Luca Farinelli.
The works reproduced in the book include many masterpieces including the series of rayograms from Man Ray’s Electricité, images by André Kértes, August Renger-Patzsch, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Lewis Hine, Sebastião Salgado, Thomas Struth, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Margaret Bourke-White, Bill Brandt, Robert Doisneau, Walker Evans, Harry Gruyaert, Toshio Shibata, Simon Norfolk, Lee Friedlander, Peter Keetman, Timm Rautert and Walter Vogel.
Fondazione MAST is an international, cultural and philanthropic institution based on Technology, Art and Innovation. Founded in Bologna in 2013, the Foundation aims to promote projects that leverage identity and creativity in order to develop new ideas and create new connections.

I haven't used this book yet, but as a novice oil painter, it will be very helpful in learning techniques used by the masters, albeit quite basic approaches and styles. It gives step-by-step guidance via illustrated tutorials, basic information such as equipment and the colours to use in each exercise areprovided. What could possibly go wrong?
This is a comprehensive overview of works of art from earliest times until the late 20th century. It's immediately accessible to read and engaging. My only grumble is that many of the photos are small and in black and white. The text and the works themselves merit better treatment, but that would make this already weighty tome unmanageable and prohibitively expensive. I'm very pleased with this book and will enjoy it.
A lovely book, found by chance and given as a gift.
Bought as Present and they loved its unique format
Fascinating and good comparative text and images.
Excellent book, in depth text and plates that I haven't seen before, perfect!
Great book about the man of 60s music
Beautiful book - made a great gift. Thank you x
I bought to wrap up presents but it somehow felt wrong to cut up these wonderful graphic designs!
Great. Rapidio!
Another great read
A great read
Nice selection of books. Competively priced. Easy to order online. Super fast delivery. The books were really well packed and protected which was impressive. Will definitely shop again at Books About Art.
Great wee book about the worlds best ever band!
Great selection of topics giving a good set of projects for any photographer to have a go at
